Hospital Based Community Services

The vision of transformation of communities can only come when the communities begin to own their health. Towards this end, every year the hospital trains women from the surrounding villages as health workers. These women serve as the liason between the village and the hospital and are trained in basic first aid and recognising symptoms of serious disease. They also monitor the health of children under five and perform regular growth monitoring checks. All their data is recorded on a database. Underweight children and targetted for nutritional intervention.
