Raj was riding his bike in the alley. He loved pumping his bike up the steep incline, turning it around and freewheeling down. He loved the wind in his face on the downslope. From out of nowhere a dog darted out from a side alley, right in front of his speeding bike. Unable to control direction, Raj swerved, straight into the side of a stationary lorry. The world blacked out.
Raj was brought to the Lady Willingdon hospital by bystanders. He had sustained a scalp laceration and had blood in his belly. He was whisked into the operating theatre within fifteen minutes. Dr. Philip was able to suture a liver laceration in segment one of the liver, in a deep and inaccessible part of the liver which was bleeding profusely. If Raj had been delayed even by fifteen minutes in getting to care, he would have died. Raj is alive and well today because God saved his life by directing the course of events.
